Isaiah 11 - Day 502 (link to today's reading)
Scripture: Isaiah 11:1-2 Commentary (gotquestions.org): The Hebrew ruach means “wind,” “breath,” or “spirit”...God used the phrase Ruach Yahweh in His promise that the Messiah would be empowered by the Holy Spirit: “The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him—the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the LORD” (Isaiah 11:2; see also Isaiah 42:1). This prophecy was fulfilled in Jesus; at His baptism in the Jordan River, John saw “the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him” (Matthew 3:16). Application: The Holy Spirit is often misunderstood in our Christian churches today. The Holy Spirit is God and we should welcome Him/Her into our lives. Prayer: Holy Spirit You are welcome here Come flood this place And fill the atmosphere Your glory God Is what our hearts long for To be overcome By Your presence, Lord Comments are closed.
