Scripture: 1 Corinthians 11:1-16

Observation: Paul describes the hierarchy of relationships within the body of Christ.

Application: The bible is the inspired word of God and it "prescribes" His will for our lives.  The bible also "describes" many cultural customs of that era.  Hence, when we read the bible, we need to discern whether the text is giving us specific instructions (love God, love your neighbor as yourself, make disciples...) or informing us about life in the past.

Prayer: Lord, help us to discern what You are saying to us...
