1 Timothy 4 (link to reading)
Scripture: 1 Timothy 4:1-4 Observation: Like a proud father, Paul prepares his adopted son (Timothy) for the challenges of ministry with practical instructions of what to do. Here, he explains how people will abandon their faith in Jesus when they are deceived. Application: After 20 years of serving in ministry, I’m no longer surprised when I hear of someone abandoning their faith in Jesus, but I’m still disheartened. Especially if the news comes from a friend who tells me that their children are no longer walking with Jesus. Deception has not diminished over the past 2000 years, in fact I would say that the challenge to live with integrity is greater today than ever, because of the lies. If your family has been affected by the lies and you’ve lost loved ones to our enemy, take heart, put on your armor, pick up your sword (Ephesians 6) and fight for the battle is not lost. Jesus the Christ is Lord and He still reigns. Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the hope we have in Jesus. Lord Jesus, we trust in Your saving grace to redeem our families. Please equip us to do our part.
