Observation: Solomon prepares to build the temple for the Ark of God.

Application: The purpose of the house Solomon is building for God is "to burn fragrant incense before Him and to set out the showbread continually, and to offer burnt offerings morning and evenings..."  These were the necessary things God required of Israel under the Mosaic law to take away sin.  However, Jesus fulfilled the requirements of the law and established a new covenant of grace, so by faith in him, we are cleansed by his blood and have access to God.  Alleluia!
