Scripture: 2 Samuel 14:25-33

Observation: In his frustration, Absalom takes matters into his own hands.

Application: The reason why SOAP operas are so entertaining is because of their unpredictable storylines.  Here, Absalom burns his uncle Joab's fields to get his attention.  Obviously, there's more than a little dysfunction within the family system here.  However, it's always easier to notice what's wrong in someone else's family than it is to fix the problems in ours.

Prayer: Lord, draw me and my family close to You...
