2 Timothy 3 (link to reading)
Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:1-5 Observation: Paul attempts to prepare Timothy for the “last days” by describing how selfish and inconsiderate “Christians" will be towards one another. Application: We expect this type of behavior from the world, but Paul explains that there will be people within the church who act this way too. He instructs Timothy to distance himself from “such people.” God’s love and grace should transform us, but sometimes it doesn’t. Why? I can’t speak for others, but personally, it’s when I don’t internalize the gift of grace, love, and forgiveness. Being sanctified is a beautiful but painful process of being transformed into the image of Jesus. If we don’t embrace the pain of transformation, we will continue down our path of self-destruction. The choice is ours to make. Prayer: Thank You Lord for wanting the best for us, and for empowering us to pursue Your goodness. Have Your way in me.
