Isaiah 49 - Day 535 (link to today's reading)
Scripture: Isaiah 49:7 Commentary (bethmelekt.com): These words are pretext to the more extensive prophecy of the despised and suffering Servant (Isaiah 52:13-53:12). As will be seen in our study of the latter prophecy, the suffering Servant can be none other than the King Messiah Yeshua. While aspects of the present verse may be applied to Isaiah the prophet and to Israel as a people, there are certain details that disqualify them both. Application: Hundreds of years before the advent of Jesus, the prophet Isaiah fortold the Israelites that God would send a Redeemer who would suffer and be despised, rejected, for he would claim to be Immanuel (God with us). King Jesus is still with us. Prayer: Lord Jesus come again and fulfill the prophecies foretold long ago... Comments are closed.
