Jeremiah 40 - Day 690 (link to reading)
Scripture: Jeremiah 40:1-6 Commentary (melissabeaty.com): Nebuzaradan was a Gentile. He was not under any covenant with God nor had he any relationship with the Lord. Yet he still told Jeremiah that “The Lord thy God hath pronounced this evil upon this place… because ye have sinned against the Lord, and have not obeyed his voice” (Jer. 40:2-3). Nebuzaradan, despite not knowing God, was able to recognize God’s judgment according to His laws. Application: The Babylonians were used by God to punish the Israelites for their disobedience. Nebuzarandan, a captain in the pagan army recognized and acknowledged that YHWH God had granted them victory, but was kind to Jeremiah and allowed him to move freely throughout the land. The point is that God takes care of His obedient children, and can do it however He wants. Prayer: Lord, save Your children... Comments are closed.
