Proverbs 25 - Day 492 (link to today's reading)
Scripture: Proverbs 25:26 Commentary: A righteous man who lets his reputation be compromised is like pure water being tainted and ruined by mud or other pollutants. The value of a pure spring or well in an arid country lends force to the statement. Once a spring or well is contaminated it may never be pure again, and disappoints those who come to it for a drink. A righteous person who defects to sin disappoints others who look to him. Walvoord, J. F., & Zuck, R. B., Dallas Theological Seminary. (1985). The Bible Knowledge Commentary: An Exposition of the Scriptures (Vol. 1, p. 961). Wheaton, IL: Victor Books. Application: Integrity matters to God so be vigilant in keeping your heart pure. Remember that God is more concerned about who we are becoming than what we are doing so check your motives before committing to anything. Prayer: Lord, have mercy on me a sinner...
